PUNTO PIGRO - HISTORY & FACTORY -

Italy is famous for its leather products.

Montedragranaro, Fermo province, Marche region,

faces the Adriatic Sea and is surrounded by a rich natural rural landscape.

Many shoe brands have been born here, and today,

renowned shoe manufacturers have their factories here, leading to it being called

the "holy land of shoes in Italy."

It is said that there are about

5,000 shoe factories, large and small, in the region.

The history of shoemaking in Montegranaro

dates back to the 14th century.

In the latter half of the 20th century,

it gradually became known worldwide as a place where shoemakers with the highest level of skill gathered.

Since then, traditions refined over centuries and

the spirit of "artigiano" (craftsman) have firmly taken root in the region.

Punto Pigro's factory is located

in this holy land of shoes.

The picture shows the view in front of the factory.

It is a very good environment with a rich natural landscape.

The photo shows the Secchiari family, who run the factory,

at an exhibition in Italy.

Originally,

the father and second son, Michele, of the Secchiari family,

worked as shoemakers in different shoe factories.

In 1975,

utilizing their respective experiences as craftsmen,

the two of them took the lead in a small family-run shoe factory

and started producing casual shoes.

Since its establishment,

they have been committed to handmade production with no compromise on materials,

and they carry out all processes from last making to finishing

consistently in their own factory.

Currently, there are 12 staff working at the factory.

Even though mechanization has progressed,

and shoe factories aimed at mass production are mainstream,

this is not a large number of people.

Nevertheless,

precisely because it is a small, elite team,

they carefully preserve good old traditions and traditional manufacturing methods,

consistently producing high-quality shoes.

In recent years, the number of foreign workers in Italian shoe factories has increased,

and the actual production is not carried out by Italians.

As the number of such factories increases,

they are becoming a valuable manufacturer that truly adheres to "MADE IN ITALY."

A few years ago, the father passed the business down to his son,

and now the second son, Michele, is at the center,

with his elder brother and sister also participating in the business,

the entire family supports the factory.

In the factory, slightly aged lockers with the names of the three siblings are neatly lined up,

evoking a sense of nostalgia and warmth.

"Punto Pigro" was launched in 2000

as a factory brand for men's shoes developed by this factory.

The brand name "Punto Pigro" literally translates to "lazy stitch" in Italian.

The origin of the brand name is said to be inspired by

the hand stitching

used in moccasins worn by Native Americans.

Unique manufacturing methods,

handcraftsmanship,

natural materials,

and tradition

are the brand concepts.

Made from high-quality leather and original soles,

each pair of shoes is carefully handmade, boasting comfort, originality, and the spirit of craftsmanship.

Currently, in addition to Italy and Japan,

the brand has many customers worldwide,

and continues to grow its fan base.

The shoes we offer

are primarily custom-designed by our company.
