ARMEN was founded in 1948 in Quimper, Brittany, western France, as a factory producing school uniforms and workwear.
Its name comes from "Ar-Men", a lighthouse built on a reef off the coast near Quimper, which has continued to withstand rough seas and protect ships.
For over half a century since its establishment, ARMEN has aimed to create workwear that can withstand harsh environments, much like this lighthouse.
Later, in 1996, they began a collaboration with Narumi Trading.
In Japan, it has become recognized as a fashion brand.
While the production of workwear as uniforms ceased due to competition from inexpensive products from Asia, ARMEN continues to develop various items with its main production base in France, based on the belief that it wants to cherish the world and atmosphere of "French Workwear," which is the brand's origin.
